We all love the 90s and they still seem like they were just 10 years ago. (Spoiler alert: the whole decade is about to turn 30.) These lesser known facts will remind you of how awesome the decade was.

Jennifer Aniston made her hairdo from Friends famous. It was called The Rachel after her character in the show. And she hated it. The name and the ‘do. She was even quoted as saying, “I think it was the ugliest haircut I’ve ever seen.”

Choker necklaces were originally used to identify prostitutes throughout the 1800s. In the 1700s, they were worn by French Revolutionaries as a way to pay tribute to the executed dead. They were super popular throughout the 90s and other decades. And surprise, they have made somewhat of a comeback recently as well.

The show Power Rangers was banned in New Zealand, even though a lot of the show was filmed there. The violence was pretty wishy washy and tame but not to everyone. According to New Zealand, the show was too violent and they banned it in 1993.

Someone spiked the cast of Titanic and thus many of them were tripping on PCP during the production. About 80 people had to be taken to the hospital for treatment, even director James Cameron.

Will Smith turned down a role in The Matrix to instead film …Wild Wild West. He was offered the role of Neo in the flick but he turned it down because he didn’t “get” the movie.

My Girl made Macaulay Culkin the highest paid child actor of all time. When the film came out in 1991, he was paid one million dollars to do it.

Who doesn’t love learning even more about stuff they think is awesome? And that Titanic fact is too much! What’s your favorite fact?
