Halloween 2020: Lit Like the Black Flame Candle

Written by Emily Rokke

Or at least it can be, if you get the wine. And who doesn’t want to be lit, or at least drinking, in 2020?

Did you get the reference? That’s from Hocus Pocus, and so are these Halloween wines.

I’ll put a spell on you, and now you’re mine. That’s what the song says anyway.

And it could be true if you drink the wine. Hello, Hocus Pocus love potion.

By the way, did you hear the news? Hocus Pocus is officially going back into the studios and coming out with a sequel next year on Disney+.

Besa mi Vino, wine-maker, worked with beverage and design shops Eliqs to make the wines. Two are coming out, a white wine and a rosé. Both will have 12.5% ABV.

The rosé variety will be sold in cans, each of which will have a witch, from the movie that is. One of the Sanderson sisters will grace your can, also known as Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy.

There will also be punny takes on lines from the movie.

“I put a spell on you, and now you’re wine!” is Winifred’s can, and Sarah’s can read, “My lucky rose! Just where I left it.”

The rosé is “bright and lightly bubbly with flavors of cherry, dried roses, and lychee.” The white wine has been described as having “fragrant aromas with a smooth blend between dry and sweet on the palate.”

Six-packs of the wine are $36.00, but act fast if you want to find it, because it’s already selling out. If you get the wine, because you love the movie, then you can sip and watch, what a combo!

And don’t forget about the sequel due out next year. Yay for Halloween 2021, because let’s be honest, we hope everything in 2021 is better than it was in 2020.
